01 / LOCAL EDGE AI
The brain lives in the handle.
A dedicated SoC with DSP and NPU (target 1–4 TOPS) runs every inference on the device. Vision frames are processed at 30–60 fps; target inference is under 50 ms with control response under 100 ms. No round-trip to a server — that is why a Carrera device answers while a cloud device is still dialling home. Race them yourself:
02 / VISION ANALYSIS
It looks before it acts.
A 2–5 MP CMOS vision module reads the visible truth of your hair, skin or color — moisture sheen, strand pattern, zone coverage, shade level under real bathroom light. Frames are analysed in memory and discarded. No facial recognition models exist anywhere in the system. No image storage by default.

03 / ADAPTIVE CONTROL
The plan executes itself — safely.
Analysis is only half the story. Every Carrera device closes the loop between what the AI sees and what the hardware does: variable-speed BLDC motors, multi-zone heaters, light modules, electroporation and precision comb guides — all capped by independent safety firmware that cannot be overridden from the app.
AI Hair Dryer
3–4 zone closed-loop heater, ToF + thermopile scalp sensing, airflow control. Heat hard-capped at 55°C — firmware, not a setting.
Joli 360
LLLT Red + NIR with exposure limits, electroporation intensity adapted to skin sensitivity, RFID-verified serum capsules.
KolorMe
Comb-guide precision delivery, shade-matched formula timing, QR/NFC refill verification before every session.
Fail-safe layer
Independent watchdog: thermal fuse, blocked-airflow detection, optical exposure limits, fail-safe shutdown on fault.
